Tuesday morning update

Well we all had the surprise of our life when Brian Bitler, Julie and Ethan walked in the waiting room! We were all so happy to see them, and I know that it was a shot in the arm for Laura.

Dr. Mayer had them raise her bed with several more mattresses to help with getting the fluid levels under control. We will have to take a picture as her nurse, Moira, said she looks like the "princess and the pea." Already it has been helpful in draining fluid.

From what we have heard, surgery is scheduled for 1:30 PM. What a thrill to know that people all over the world will join us at the throne of grace on behalf of Lindsay and the team of nurses and doctors who will be attending to her. However, isn't it cool to know that Dr. Mayer's hands will be guided and directed by the GREAT Physician.

We love you all. We will update you as we get information.

So happy to hear that Julie and Brian arrived safely! We are PRAYING, PRAYING, PRAYING for ALL of you and most especially Lindsay and her doctors.

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you."

Isaiah 35:3&4

Dear Jon and Laura:

Though you have not heard from us via the Blog, we want you to know of our love and continuing prayers for you all, especially for Lindsay. Our Lord is trusting you with an unusual burden. We readily acknowledge that we have no way of knowing what you are experiencing. We have never been where you are.

What we do know is that our Lord knows you and you know Him. And we are thankful that through times like this the knowledge we have of Him increases to become more like the fullness of the knowledge He has of us.

For you All - And with our Love - We anticipate the Victory of His Peace and the Triumph of His Grace.

Laura & Jon,
When I went to the my doctor's appointment the day I had Samuel, and they told me that there were some problems and that I need to have a c-section; and they told me all about the complications and all the things that could go wrong; I wasn't afraid. All around me people were trying to hide the fact that they were freaking out (and not very well, I might add), but I really and truly was not afraid.

Looking back at it now, I realize that my lack of fear had nothing to do with my physical condition, or what the outcome might bring, but rather, I knew that God had me (and Samuel) in His hands and that was not going to change no matter what the surgeons did or how I fared physically.

As they were wheeling me down the hallway to the operating room, I remember taking a deep breath and trying to pray... but no words were coming to mind. So I thought, I've memorized scripture all my life, I'll just recite some verses in my mind... but I drew a complete blank. The words that came to my mind were from a song I had been listening to in the car on the way to the doctor. "I put my hope in You. I lay my life in the palm of Your hand. I'm constantly drawn to You, O Lord, in ways I cannot comprehend..."

I pray that God brings you His peace this afternoon as you endure more of the waiting that you have been doing for so long. He is there in that room with you right now and I pray that you will feel His arms around you. I pray, too, that He will steady the hands of the doctors and nurses who are operating on Lindsay and that she will know His healing today.

I love you guys and cannot say in words how much my heart aches for you.

Hugs to all,
Jenny

I could not help but notice the rain today. We prayed as a family that God would bring the same nurturing to Lindsay & family as he does to all of nature whenever it rains. Bill, it is so perfect that you mentioned Elijah's steadfastness in prayer and I cannot remember a time that the sound of rain sounded so good!

40 of our staff prayed for Lindsay, Jon, Laura, & Tanner today at noon at our staff chapel here at Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA.
Great words I heard women's bible study singing this morning:

No Matter the storms that come my way
No Matter the TRIALS I may face
You promised that You would see me through
So I WILL TRUST in YOU !
Continuing in prayer for you...

As I went to pray with the girls at 1:30 for Lindsay, Julia gave me a note that she wrote to Lindsay... one line read... "I love Lindsay so much. I will pray without ceasing for this is the will of God through Christ. 1 Thes. 5:17-18" Well, all of us in our house are praying for ALL of you. So, glad Brian & Julie are with you- wish I was too but God is granting me the blessing of having Emma & our 4 today & we are ALL praying... without ceasing. Love you all!

I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip - He who watchesover you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun willnot harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

I claim healing from top to bottom and God will recieve all the Glory.

Thank u Jesus that your will for Lindseys life is taking place and that the hands of the enemy are bond and have no place over her. She is covered by the Blood of the Lamb and with that alone she is protected and healed. I speak it into the realm of yesterday, today and tomorrow. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lifting my heart, my voice, my all up to the LORD on behalf of all of you.

Father God hear our cry, as we call out to You on behalf of this precious one and all those who surround her now. No matter what capacity they are serving her may Your Hand be what guides and directs each and every detail of this procedure.

May Your comforting Word stand watch over the hearts and minds of all who wait and pray for Lindsay.
Hear our petitions and hear out cries oh Lord.

Dearest Laura, Jon and family,
I have spent many times during the day today, praying for little Lindsay. I heard a saying not too long ago, "Instead of waiting for the storm to pass, dance in the rain." What a storm to go through, but so much easier knowing that our great God is in control of Lindsay's little life. What a testimony you all have been to those who are taking care of her. I was reading in the Psalms and Psalm 125:1-2 says, Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. What an awesome God we have who surrounds Lindsay and you and holds you all in the palm of His hand. To God be the glory for what He will do in and through you during this time. Just remember, Dance in the rain. We love you Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob

Dear Lindsay Bear, Laura & Jon, Jan & Bill: Wow, my unceasing prayers are with you. What a witness to all. How God is using this to waken people up to His existence. If they never prayed before they certainly will now. He is making Himself known through these dire circumstances. If anyway has been away from their bible this sure makes one get back on track.

We serve a great and powerful God who heals! We rejoice in the improvements you are seeing!

Let's agree in prayer together:
Father, we lift up Lindsay to You and thank You for Your healing in her little life. We tell the infection to go away in Jesus' name and tell the kidneys to function properly in Jesus' name. Allow Your complete healing to flow through her body now, in Jesus' name. We thank You that by Your stripes she is healed. We give You all the glory, Lord, for the miracle of healing that You are doing now in Lidnsay's life.
Amen
