Good morning. Today is the day of Lindsay's surgery. We don't have a definite time yet, but believe it will be some time after 12:00 noon. As soon as we have a definite time, we will post it on the blog.
Please be praying for the team of doctors and nurses who will be ministering to her in the OR. Pray for Dr. Mayer who is the head surgeon.
Two things that blessed me last night:
1. I finally had the privilege of meeting the nurse who saved Lindsay's life. We refer to her as our "angel of mercy." We thought you would be blessed, too, by meeting Julia. Thanks, Julia! We love you.
2. I was also so moved last night to be in Lindsay's room while Laura prayed over her before we left. It was a very emotional time for me, and I was so thankful to witness the strength that God is giving our kids as they walk through this difficult time. Jon and Laura, we are so proud of you.
Thanks for your prayers and notes. God encouraged my heart this morning. Check out my blog: http://www.americaskeswick.org/freedom/2008/04/he-prayed-earnestly.html
We will keep you posted.

I'll lift Lindsay, the doctors, and the nurses up in prayer. I have asked God to let me find time today to say a quick prayer between each period at school. That will be at least nine prayers :-)

Those magnificent verses of Deut 31:6 & 8 keeping playing over-and-over in my head and in my heart. I have heard the Colony men repeat them and the sheer volume of those men's voices is such a blessing. This is the day that the LORD hath made and we will be glad and rejoice in it. That verse is often a bit more difficult to say when some days we wonder what there is to be glad about. BUT, in every day He gives us blessings that sometimes we may not even be aware of. Truly, He KNOWS our deepest anxieties and is right there to wipe away the tears. How could we ever express our gratitude to Him for being there even when the day seems to be lacking in the "glad". Today is the day of Lindsay's surgery, and George & I will be in an attitude of prayer throughout the day for the surgeons, nurses, technicians, and all who care for her. And most especially for Jon, Laura, Tanner, Bill, Jan, and all of precious Lindsay's family. There is nothing that comes into our/your lives that the Lord cannot handle, and give us the peace, grace, and hope that He alone can give. Be assured you are in our thougts and prayers throughout this day.. Diane & George Nichols Wilm, DE
Lindsay will definitely be in our prayers today, as she has been every day. The Lord continues to hold her in His hands and I know He will give you the strength you need as well. Thank you for being the encouragement that you are. The Lord is using each of you to touch many lives. Our prayers are with the team of doctors as well, that they would be the Lord's hands for Lindsay today.
I realized I didn't leave my name...the last comment is from Jane Kelsall and family.
Nehemiah 1:8
"The joy of the Lord is my strength."
Thanks Bill for posting the picture of Julia and Laura. Thanks Laura for completing the mission. :-) Everyone there is in our prayers. Especially little Lindsay. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you throughout the day.

Continuing to pray for Lindsay, for all of you, and for all who care for Lindsay. I pray the Lord will give much wisdom and guide the doctor's hands as surgery is done today.
As I drove home from NY state yesterday, I was thinking about the song, "Shine, Jesus, Shine." As I went through the first lines of the song, it made me think of all of you in the hospital there in Boston.
"Lord, the light of your love is shining, In the midst of the darkness shining..."
May the Lord give you peace, strength, calmness, encouragement and rest as you shine for Him in Children's Hospital Boston.
Love and hugs,
Susan M.
PS - Deuteronomy 31:8 popped up again - it was the verse of the month at the church I attended on Sunday!
To Lindsay and her family, How good it was to see a picture of Laura and Julia! It brought us closer to all of you! Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with all of you all day and all night, like so many others. When I wake in the night I immediately pray for all of you again. We'll be storming the gates of heaven with prayers throughout the day for the surgery. As I prayed just now I was envisioning the Hands of God Himself holding Dr. Mayer's hands in His as he performed the surgery. What a comfort! We love you all and please feel our presence with you in that hospital room! With much love, the Jaegers
Laura and Jon and all... I have been thinking of hands and on this special day - the little hands of Lindsay and Tanner, the gentle hands of the nurses, the skilled hands of Lindsay's doctors, the praying hands of you her parents and her grandparents, aunts and uncles and the many who pray in earnest for Lindsay, even the hands that made the equipment.
All very important but most of all is the FACT that Lindsay and you all are being held by the Lord's hands
Sending these words of Ira Stanphill:
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
Our hearts, our minds, our prayers are with you today and in the days to come.
Laurel and Van
I will be praying this afternoon during the surgery.

We will be joining in with the host of God's people holding you all up in prayer today. As God has so faithfully and kindly answered our prayers and this surgery is an evidence of His continued care. This is not an easy journey for you all but thank you for being an evidence of God's faithful sustaining grace. You are shining forth the truth that when the valley is the deepest God's presence shines forth. May He shine on you with His peace as you wait through the hours. Wish we could be with you.
Much Love,
Tim and Pat
Thanks for introducing us to Julia. Angel of Mercy--AMEN!!
Will be holding you all up in prayer all day....esp., during her surgery. It is hard to imagine all this precious little girl is going through. But God is with her as well as with you during the waiting time.
I wonder how many times God's word says "Wait" and He is faithful as everyone has been pointing to Deut. 31:8 That has been a comfort to me as I pray--learned that one at AK!
Praying for the team and Dr. Mayer.
God bless them all.
Love you all so much.
Many hugs and prayers,
Miriam
We are praying that God will give the surgeons extrordinary skill as they perform the surgery today. And praying for strength and peace for all of you who wait. God is our refudge and our strength and we praise Him that He is so real in all of your hearts. We love you, U Del & A Gwen
Thank you for your kind words. I, too, was honored to meet Bill- and thank him in person for his diligent updates which we all eagerly anticipate each day.
Jon, Laura, Bill, Jan and Tanner- continue with the unparalleled and extraordinary strength as well as patience you have demonstrated thus far... and keep your spirits up! My thoughts will be with Lindsay today during her surgery, and the angel you gave me pinned over my heart.
Julia
We are praying in PA that God be glorified today! Many in our church are praying for Linsay and all of you! It always amazes me that at times like this- when you are trying to find words to encourage the person that is struggling, God speaks to you through them instead!!! Thank you for this blog and for all of the updates...isn't it cool how God can use technology!
Thank you for the privilege of going before the Throne of Grace on your behalf!
We love you and we are praying!!

I am asking everyone I know to keep praying with me about Lindsay and the entire family! My third graders are also praying and asking about Lindsay often.
