Sorry for the lack of information. Up until about an hour ago, things were quiet. I can't really go into a lot of detail at the moment because we are all trying to sort out all that is happening.
We are asking our prayer partners to mobilize to pray very specifically that God will give HIS wisdom to the doctors. They are at a point of really not knowing what the next step should be. They have discussed various options, but they are really at the place where they don't know what would be best.
From what I can determine, the best case scenario is still for God to provide a heart for Lindsay. I did find out that she can be on the ECMO for up to six weeks, so we are not actually at crunch time, but half way there.
There is still the need to get rid of more fluids which they think they can do with ECMO, an issue with the lung, and getting her sedated enough to relax.
So please pray specifically that the team will be willing to listen to HIS voice. Thanks. Be assured that as soon as I know something, even in the middle of the night, I will post information to keep you up to date.

Just wanted to say Hello and thanks for all the updates! I'm sure it can be frustrating with the waiting and unclear answers. Hopefully, knowing that everyone is praying for clarity, will help keep your minds at ease.

I pray that if any of Lindsay's medical staff do not know the Lord, that they will come to know Him through this situation. I pray that they would be overwhelmed with peace as God give them His clear direction.

Your blogs are a way for all of us to know how to pray and to be included in everything that is going on. They can also be used to help you to sort things out. It is systematic and logical in a situation that is anything but. Best of all, El Shaddai, God Almighty, is watching over every inch of this test. And as I see it you are all passing with flying colors. I was so encouraged by Jan and Laura's response to the doctors about the "army" that is praying. May God provide an absolute miracle that is undeniable and may hospital staff come to know him from it just like those in the book of Acts.

Praying as bill suggested that the Lord will give the surgeon and medical staff wisdom to use their knowledge and experience to come to right option for Lindsay--and indeed if it is the heart transplant that He will give peace and rest to all--in spite of all the uncertainties. My prayer for you all through the night watches tonight is that the team of doctors will be in total agreement when they meet, so that you will know with certainty that God is speaking from HIS heart to yours through them.
I shared with Bill last night that I prayed big prayers yesterday morning using intentional, and specific wording. As I watched the updates through the day I was awed as seeing those very words appear. I was blessed to know that God not only hears our voices but He hears our very words. HE IS LISTENING!! Diane

Hey Bill and Jan, we just found out about your grandaughter's condition today. We are so sorry and will be continually lifting her up in prayer as well as her parents and the rest of the family. I can't even begin to imagine the stress this must be on everyone. Praise God that He is there to give strength and to provide what everyone needs to get through this time. Dear General and Family. Know that we are praying for Lindsay, and the testimonies your family I KNOW are bringing to others you all have come in contact with thus far. Thank you for the updates! WONDERFUL pictures too!!! They brought joy to my heart!
I am still praying that God will choose to heal Lindsay's original heart. I am specifically praying for the mitral valve, the muscle layers, and that He would allow more blood vessels to grow for the left side of her heart. I pray that He would breathe His breath of life into it, and touch it with His healing hand. I also pray that he will hold Lindsay and you all especially close to His heart during this time,and that He will protect every cell in her body from any type of damage from this whole experience. I pray that your sweet Lindsay will be able to run, jump, sing,laugh,talk,learn and play without anything to hinder her. If God chooses a transplanted heart to heal her, then I pray for His perfect timing in that case as well. I pray for God to speak to all the doctors, and whisper to them, the correct action to take in Lindsay's case. Lord, please let them know when to wait, and when to proceed with interventions. We all are praying for a miracle that will heal Lindsay, show your power to thousands of people,and bring you all the glory.

When Julie & Nikki and I went to visit you in Minnesota and we found out that living out there forced you to be self-entertaining, so we ended up making home-made music videos... Wide Open Spaces... and you demanding to sing your part solo; The cheese factory tour and that wretched picture Julie took. (And no, I didn't photograph Julie in that one place... I only hit the flash button!); Milk truck miscalculations... and why wouldn't anybody let me milk a cow? And didn't somebody find dead horse while we were out there?
The oh-so-fun daily lifeguard log... The KFP easter bonnet contest... Watching movies in the hot-tub... (No, Gavin, but thanks for offering)... And how about when you started dating that guy that lived next door to you and you actually gave up Coke and started drinking Pepsi because of him!! Ugghh!!
We're still praying for Lindsay and for you and Jon, too. We love you guys and wish soooo much that we could do something to help. In the meantime, tell give that little blonde nugget a big hug and kiss from Aunt Jenny and be sure and tell her that we all love her HEAPS!

Just wanted to check in & say I was awake early this morning praying for your baby. I know God has His plans, holds her breath in Hands, and like the sunday school song says, All are precious in His sight. For some reason that line was particularly comforting to me at times Victoria
Our family continues to pray for your family, that miracles continue for the Groen family and for little Lindsay.
Just this blog is evidence of how our Lord is using a baby girl lying in a hospital bed to draw hundreds/thousands in closer walk with Him.
May He give the Doctor's creative wisdom and a clarity of a path forward in Lindsay's care.

Jon, remember the day you did the last bit of siding on our house? It snowed 6 inches and was cold but not as cold as the day you put in the final window. About three weeks ago our yard finally was completely without snow so I've been going out everyday and picking up nails. Three weeks of Lindsay being in the hospital and three weeks of picking up nails. I think Steve even was beginning to think that I was obsessed with it. First of all I'm not a morning person so it had to be God that gave me this thought this morning. Those nails were God's way of helping me to deal with the stress of knowing about Lindsay and your family being at Children's Hospital. I never even thought about the nails when you did the addition to our house two years ago. Thank You God for the little things that help us to get through the day. I Praise You God for giving your Son to die on the cross for us and for nails.
