LINDSAY BEAR'S GARDEN

Thank you for praying for Jon, Laura and Tanner as they went through the first of many diffiuclt "special" days. While it was a very emotional time for all of us, the kids were strong and I know that God's grace is what helped them to get through Lindsay's first birthday.

The blog went over 44,000 hits sometime last night. We know that many of you are still checking the blog on a regular basis, but please, don't just visit, write a note to the kids. Your words of encouragement are so much needed as they walk through their time of grief.

I am humbled and happy to announce that the Board of Trustees of America's KESWICK have established a memorial fund in Lindsay's memory, and the fund will be used to refurbish our aging playground. There is a team of folks that are in the process of developing a new playground that will be dedicated in Lindsay's memory. Our Board Chairman, Howard Bateman, has named the new playground, LINDSAY BEAR'S GARDEN.

If you would like to make a donation to the project, make your check payable to AMERICA'S KESWICK and designate it for the playground. You can send your check to:

America's KESWICK
601 Route 530
Whiting, NJ 08759

We will keep you posted on the progress.

Have a great day!

Lindsay Bear's Garden, what a sweet thought. I personally know how much the memorials mean to a bereaved family. Two years ago, the school where our Nathan attended dedicated a garden at the school in his memory called "Nate's Place." When we arrive in Redlands, CA, Glen and I often visit Nate's Place first. We have purchased memorial bricks in about ten different places around the country. Memorials help keep the beautiful memory of our precious children alive. When I am at Keswick each summer, after I check on our bricks, I know I will look at Lindsay Bear's Garden and think of Lindsay.
Jon and Laura, I know this year of "firsts" will be extremely difficult for you, but it is my prayer that God will be gracious and that you will always be aware of the prayers of your family and friends because we love you.
In His mercy,
Marilyn

Lindsay Bear's Garden sounds like a beautiful and peaceful place! We continue to pray for your family all day long everyday. Lindsay's joyful little life impacts practically every thing we do and every choice we make...it is impossible for me to describe how profoundly she has touched us. Anyway, I just wanted to write a little note to let you know that constant prayers are coming your way from Portsmouth.
Love,

Dear Laura, Jon and Tanner,

Been thinking about you the last several days...remembering how difficult "the firsts" are...praying for comfort and strength to trust the Lord, Who is too loving to be unkind and to wise to make a mistake...even though we don't understand.

This morning I read a poem by Lucy Larcom. It was a comfort and an encouragement to me...trust the same for you.

Is it raining, little flower?
Be glad of rain;
Too much sun would wither thee;
"Twill shine again.
The clouds are very black,'tis true;
But just behind them shines the blue.

Art thou weary, tender heart?
Be glad of pain;
In sorry...sweetest virtues grow,
As flowers in rain.
God watches, and thou wilt have sun,
When clouds their perfect work have done.

Lovingly,
MER (Mary Ella)

Yippee!!!
Lindsay Bear's Garden will be beautiful! I hope it has lots of pink flowers too! How cool it will be when people ask who Lindsay Bear is...her testimony is still going. What a life, what a ministry!
Laura & Jon, so sorry for your pain, you must miss her terribly. I pray the Lord will comfort you as only He can. Kiss Tanner. John and I talk about Lindsay often. He thought is was so cool when I told him about the playground. I think Tanner should cut the ribbon! Pink of course.
Love and prayers,
Dina

Praying all the time for all of you. What a lovely thing for the Board of Trustees at Keswick to do in Lindsay's honor. I'm sure that will be a haven for many of you.

God Bless You All.

Lindsay Bear's Garden- what a wonderful idea. It will be a place of beauty and happiness, which is what she brought into all our lives. She was special to me, even in the few times that I saw her in the church nursery. She has deeply touched my life. I think of you all often, and send up a little prayer during those times. You and Lindsay have been a blessing to all of us.

thats beautiful! We are hoping to do something at the hospital where Colin died, in the near future on the same wave length. Thats a beautiful tribute--
I am still here for you Laura, when you need a friend. As your inlaws, or dad wrote before, take my hand, we can walk together threw this awful grief, they are both so different, yet so much alike. Our angels play together now, I am so honored to be a friend...
Take care.
Hope your flowers cheered you a little on Lindsays Bday-
Sibahan

I planted a beautiful blue flowered hydrangea just a few days ago and everytime I look at it I remember your beautiful blue eyed daughter.
I am so happy to hear you are remembering your Lindsay with a playground that will benefit other children in tough times although not as diffulcult as your situation. You are a blessing to many you don't even realize. Your faith and trust in our GOD is a testimony to HIS GRACE. Praise HIS Holy Name.
In Grace,

Lindsay Bear,
Granny is missing you today. Miss hearing your little voice in the background when I am talking to mommy on the phone. Miss getting your pictures over email of you and Tanner playing together, making funny faces and wearing your silly different hats.
Love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck (miss your bear hugs, too),
Love,
Granny
