Thursday evening Update

Jan just called with several items for prayer:

1. Please pray about the bleeding the IV site in Lindsay's hand.
2. Because of the infection, Lindsay is on the inactive list for a transplant. We need to ask God to take care of the infection.
3. They are doing a test of the lung tomorrow to find out if there is infection in her lung.
4. She is peeing better, but needs to keep it up!

I want to encourage you to pray for wisdom for the doctors. If God can show up for the prophets of Baal -- just think what He can do at Children's Hospital Boston.

There is another way you can help. Brian Bitler, our adopted son, suggested that we start writing to the doctors and let them know that they are being prayed for! I think that is a great idea.

Here are three to start with: Dr. Mayer (Chief Surgeon), Dr. Emani and Dr Brown. You can write them at:

Children's Hospital Boston
Cardiac Intensive Care
8 South
300 Longwood Avenue
Boston, MA 02115

I know that your notes will be encouraging to them.

We storm the gates of heaven together for Lindsay and for her doctors.

Today at our Community Hymnsing, hundreds of our Keswick friends told me how they were praying for Lindsay and Laura and Jon. So many have been on the blog and putting them on their church prayer lists. We patched Laura in by phone so she could thank our friends ... needless to say, there weren't too many dry eyes.

God bless you.

Praise God for #4! Or is that #1... ;=)

There is a line in the mini-series "The Stand" where one of the characters, Ralph, tells Mother Abigail that he doesn't believe in God. She just laughs at him and says, "That don't matter. GOD believes in YOU!" I know that God can work through the doctor who doesn't believe in miracles. But miracles have already happened! Look at how much she has survived!

I've got my envelopes stamped and my pen ready, and my letters will go out in the next couple of days!

We continue to pray and update others that are praying as well. As I was praying for Lindsay in the car today, this song came on and reminded me again that God's grace is enough-

Your grace is enough,
Your grace is enough,
Your grace is enough for me.

So remember Your people,
Remember Your children,
Remember Your promise,
Oh God!

Your grace is enough,
Heaven reaching down to us-
Your grace is enough for me.
God I see your grace is enough,
I'm covered in your love-
Your grace is enough for me
For me.

Jon and Laura- I am praying that you will continue to feel God's love covering you- especially as you share His grace with those around you. Your lights are shining bright! I will also continue to pray for the doctors and nurses- they are special people indeed.

Love and prayers,
Aunt Sharon and Uncle Matt

Laura,
It meant so much to hear your voice today on the phone. Thank you for taking the time to share your heart.

I will be writing the doctors and praying for you all.

Jon and Laura, to God be the glory for the things He has done. Your strength and your testimony to those around you, how can they not see that your faith is in a living God who loves and cares for us. Without the Lord there is no hope, but our hope is in Christ, the giver of life, our sustainer in difficult times. You are a blessing to many people and God will do a work that we cannot realize because of your faith in Him who has entrusted Lindsay's little life to you. We continue to pray for the issues at hand and our God is a God or miracles. Love, Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob

Oh the stuff this 'ol world does throw at us! We are so praying for you all and hopeful you feel the love and support of so many. It is such a comfort to know that God is in control! But you, Jon & Laura must be some extraordinary kind of people that God has allowed such a thing for your family! Your testimonies, via Bill & Jan's blog have been such a blessing to me - His strength made perfect in your weakness. He's a good God - all the time and I'll praise Him in this storm! May His promises sustain you through this very trying time. I always tell my 3 girls, Mom and Dad love you - and God loves you SO MUCH MORE! Lindsay is in the Hands of the ultimate parent, the ultimate physician and a most wonderful and awesome Creator. It is our privelege to support you in prayer at this time.
Much Love-
Kristin Haynes (daughter of Ken & Karen Brown, fellow former "Keswick Kid!")

What a wonderful idea to write a note to the doctors. I will be doing that this weekend. I wanted you to know that your prayer team in South Carolina continues to grow.

With lots of love and many prayers.

Wow, haven't had the chance to check up all day, but I will be praying for all that you asked for. I think it is a great idea to write the DR.'s and team and share with them and I'm so grateful for so many people praying for Lindsay and you all. You are a very much loved family. And praying for Lindsay to pea, makes me thinking of how you all prayed for Colin to poop :) Our kids will love their stories one day. Love you all, Melissa, Brian, and kids :)

Jon & Laura...you both have been such an incredible testimony not just to the nurses and doctors, but to all of us in the body of Christ who count it a privilege to pray without ceasing for Lindsay.
We all thank you for sharing these updates and pictures, as it allows us to feel like "family" !
Lindsay's beautiful smile is always embedded on our minds throughout the day as we continue to pray for her.
Praying for this doctor to see a reflection of Christ in each one of you.
"Praise to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for help. The Lord is my strength, and my heart trusts in Him. My times are in Your Hands."
Love, Glen-Genine-Melinda-Jenna
