Good morning! Trust that you will be blessed today on this Lord's Day. Here is some additional good news:
1. Lindsay had a good night. They were very pleased with how she eliminated fluid during the night, and even backed down what they were trying to take off
2. Her chest xray show more improvement. They are talking about trying to back down the ventilator this morning to see if they can put her back on the smaller unit. This will give them the ability to turn her more often.
The head of the CICIU met with the kids last night and reiterated that she is not out of the woods yet, but was also encouraged by the way Lindsay was handling things. The two biggest issues are the need to get her off the ECMO machine and clearing up the infection. As you pray, these are the two biggest challenges that she will face. She cannot get the Berlin heart or the heart transplant with an infection.
This morning in my quiet time, here are several verses that were in the DAILY LIGHT (http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/devotions/daily.light/):
Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortend, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear. In the day I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. Ah, Lord God! Behold you have made the heavens and the earth by YOUR great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. He delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us. This sickness is not unto death, but for the GLORY OF GOD that the Son of God may be glorified through it. Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?
Thanks again for writing to the kids. They are encouraged by your love and support, and most of all, your prayers.

He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
Isa. 40:11
That's exciting news. We'll be praying for continued healing of healing of her lung, and that the infection will be controlled. This morning I was reading Psalm 20. It is an awesome passage, but verses 6 and 7 are particularly comforting.
"Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He answeres him from His holy heaven
with the saving power of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."
We don't have to trust in what machines and medicines can do for Lindsay. God is not limited by them. We pray that "the power of God's right hand" will heal Lindsay.

Jon, Laura, Jan, and Tanner-
First, and foremost, I apologize that I was not able to visit Lindsay last night. Due to some last minute scheduling issues, I was switched off Sat. and Sun. night and will now be working starting Wed. night of next week instead. I was able to visit Lindsay on Friday night though, I gave her a kiss on the forehead and talked to her about what amazing strength she has shown... and how many people love her.
Secondly, I am pleased to hear about her improvement over the past 24 hours. Both the improvement of her fluid status and her lung are excellent news! Lindsay will be in my thoughts, and as always Bill, I will be eager to read Lindsay's updates.

thanking the Lord that He is holding Lindsay in the hollow of His hand, supporting Jon + Laura with His everlasting arms and encouraging Bill with His precious Word. Continuing to pray for the specifics and trusting God for His healing. Lovingly, MER
The Wood Family's verse - "Rejoice Evermore" and so we are rejoicing with the little strides Lindsay is making. To God be the glory for what He is doing and will do. We love you and continue to pray. Praise God for the strength He has given you all. Love, Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob
We're praying that God will continue to amaze the medical staff who are taking care of Lindsay. And that He will continue to sustain you guys through all of this. "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." Isaiah 7:9b
Loving you guys from way down here!

...and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.
Praise the Lord for the encouraging report.
I stayed at my dad's overnight and the first thing I asked my sister when I got up this morning was, "Did you check the blog?" She said, "I just turned on the computer," but called me in a few minutes later to read the good report.
Continuing to pray...
Love,
Susan M.
Dear Ones, Praising the Lord with you ALL, and praying for MUCH more improvement and progress throughout the day, as God continues to pour HIS healing oil upon Lindsey. Stan & DeEtta
Jon and Laura,
Our God is amazing and so are you as parents. Your strength is so powerful and I know Lindsay can feel it when you are around her, which gives her comfort. Although, the most comfort is from our Great Physician's Hand that she lies in at all times. He is in control at all times, so lean on Him. You will all get through this. It is also amazing the prayer support you guys have. There are so many people who love your little miracle. I know many people in Louisiana are praying hard for you all. We love you and continue to pray for miracles.
Love: Joshua, Kayla, and Logan Poret
We love you very much and are continuing to pray for Lindsay! May you have peace in your hearts today. We pray that God will show not only the doctors and nurses the strength you have in him but the other families around you! I know you have already been a witness to many of them. We love you and are sending big hugs your way.
Love,
Julie, Garrett

We prayed much yesterday for Lindsay and again this morning, and we are blessed to hear that Lindsay had a good night and that there is improvement. Our God is able and His love for us is amazing! You are all in our hearts and prayers each day that God will continue to give you His peace and His grace. Your faith has been a blessing to us and to all who hear about Lindsay. Keep looking up!
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know “Thus saith the Lord!”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
I’m so glad I learned to trust
Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, friend
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Still Praying!!
Love,
Marilyn
Good morning:
It's time to praise the Lord, praise the Lord, just lift our hands to Heaven and praise the Lord for so many blessings:
That Lindsay had a good night and we are getting some encouraging reports!
For Godly parents and family that are so full of love and dedication.
For all the praying Saints in the Family of God.
For what God will be doing for Lindsay today and in the days to come. What an awesome God we serve.
Have a good and Godly day. Love you Lindsay Bear. Joann W.
Dear precious family
We are so encouraged to hear how Lindsay has improved. We can see everyday the power of prayer not only with Lindsay but with the staff at the hospital.
We will be praying for continued improvement and healing and that your testimony will continue to touch those around you.
We love you all very much,
Uncle Mark, Aunt Jeanne, Jeff, Meredith, Megan and Richie
What wonderful news to share on this, our Lord's day. Thank you Bill for your dedication to the blog. You have all become "our family", as we pray and journey with you.
As I searched scripture to find verses of encouragement & hope for all of you I was led to Daniel. I found the following to be so very powerful!!
26 "I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.
"For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be
destroyed, his dominion
will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and
wonders in the heavens and
on the earth. He has
rescued Daniel
from the power of the
lions."
And he will rescue Lindsay. God Bless you all.
Love,

It was so good to finally see you the other night. We will continue to pray for the infection to heal and as well for her lungs and eliminating fluids. You are doing a great job Lindsay keep it up!!

Yes, we are being blessed today. Especially by the good news regarding Lindsay's condition. God is speaking to us in many ways: the awesome verses he gave Bill this morning and a sermon on TV which some may have heard about knowing the will of God. It ended with a challenge that we ask for something so great that if done all will know only God could have done it so He will get the glory. He has already been doing that and we give all the praise and glory to Him. Jer. 29:11,12
Praying for the urgent requests and for strength and peace for you all...
Love and hugs,
Gram
We are praying; indeed, we are praying. Even when we can't seem to find the words, our Heavenly Father knows the very utterings and groaings of our hearts. He is indeed a shelter in the time of storm. As a storm tosses the waves back and forth, you, Lindsay's family, have been tossed on those waves; some seeming almost to pull you under, BUT, how wonderful to know that Jesus is in control of the waves, and the little vessel we are sometimes caused to be in during the storm. He is able, He is able, I know He is able; My Lord is able to carry me (you) through. Continuing in earnest prayer for Lindsay, her care-givers, and her precious Mommy & Daddy, Grandparents, and loved ones. George & Diane Nichols FBC, Wilmington, DE
We shared Lindsay's needs with our Sunday School class and we upheld you all in prayer. People all throughout Delaware and Maryland wil be lifting you before the Lord this week and beyond until we see the fullness of our prayers answered.
We wait in hope for the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice for we trust in his Holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.
In prayer,
Richel Stocker
This has been a most heart wrenching experience walking this journey this you, Jon & Laura via "the blog." But I was thinking and praying for Lindsay yesterday, and of the doctor's concern and I thought of the most glorious thought in that as believers, our hope is not only in what we have in this life, but the hope of heaven beyond our experience here. It takes being one of God's kids to understand that but that truly is our hope. "To live is Christ, to die is gain." But God knows his plan for Lindsay - and right now as this little gal works so hard to heal, and Mom & Dad treasure their time with her she is indeed teaching all of us a lot about supporting each other and praying without ceasing. So I pray, beyond "OUR will" for Lindsay (to keep her!) that we will also all be a shining testimony of love and support from the family of God. Lindsay is showing all surrounding her how much we can love and support one another from far and near! So Jon & Laura and Tanner, Grandpa & Grandma Groen and Welte, hang in there and thank you for allowing us to so closely carry this burden and walk this road with you. It truly is a privelege and I'm so glad to participate in what God is showing us all while working out His plan for Lindsay. Indeed, His hand is at work, not only in her, but in all of us as we seek His face on her behalf. And it was really better to hear better news this Sunday morning. We'll keep "visiting", praying and believing that our Father's sovereignty will continue to sustain you, and give you peace.
Hebrews 12:1,2 ---let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, ----
Romans 8:28
Our Great God, we pray for a little one we do not know because her little life has touched us all. Now in the midst of her struggle, O Great Physician, we ask for restoration, physically for her, emotionally and mentally for her parents and loved ones. Lindsey has led us to your throne, "a children shall lead them." We praise you for this litte lamb.
To the family of Lindsay,
My name is Katie, and I am a friend of Josh, Kayla, and Logan Poret. I read Lindsay's story, and would like for you all to know that I am praying for her every day. She seems like a fighter and is such a beautiful girl. God works in mysterious ways, but continue to keep ya'lls faith in Him. And remember Lindsay will be in my family's prayers everyday.

Laura and family, I just wanted to let you know my family and church family and coworkers are praying for your whole family. We pray specifically for Lindsay and we pray for encouragement for other members of the family. I know this is a tough time for all of you and I am inspired by your strength. I know you are an incrediable witness to everyone around you. - Esther Morad and family.
I thank You Lord that Lindsay is not suffering and responds so quickly when the sedation is lifted. Thank You that Lindsay knows that her Mom and Dad are with her and that she is safe. Thank You Lord for ministering to her as she rests and heals. Thank You Lord for touching this little one. We ask you to continue her healing Father through the power of Jesus'resurrection. Thank you for being our hope, our joy, our strenght. Thank you that we can bear one anothers burdens and come to You in prayer for Lindsay and all who love her. Show us Your works, O Lord and complete the good work that You have begun in Lindsay. We give you all the praise and glory.
Jon, Laura, Lindsay, & family
My name is Stephanie and I heard about your sweet Lindsay through my best friend Kayla Poret..whom you have met. I just wanted to say that I am praying for Lindsay and for you. I know too well the pain you are feeling...and I know the strength I received from God. Continue to draw your strength from Him. He is with you and with Lindsay as she carries her cross. I know when my baby Madyson was going through all her struggles, I thought God had left us..left her, but He showed me He was there in such sweet ways. He will do the same for you. I am here if you need anything. Just let me know. Many prayers and much love is coming your way from our family. Love, Stephanie Johnson
Jon & Laura, you don't know me, but I have been praying for your precious little Lindsay and you and your family that our God would uphold each of you and that the peace of God would reign in your hearts as you completely trust Him and His plan. Always remember that He will never leave you or forsake you and is in complete control and we need to just keep praising Him and give Him all the glory for all that He is doing and will do for your little girl and for each of you that are in His waiting room. Love and continued prayers.....Joan J./ Medford, NJ ( Thank you Bill for this blog to keep us updated on your little granddaughter)
