Sunday evening update

It has been a relatively quiet day. They did back Lindsay off the paralytic this afternoon and she continues to respond.

There are several major prayer requests tonight:

1. There is bleeding again at the left hand IV site. They have called into someone from surgical to see what can be done.

2. The infection is a little better and its eradication is the key to better options.

3. The big news is that starting within the hour, they are going to start backing off ECMO and with medication support, see what Lindsay's heart can do. Needless to say, the kids are a wee bit apprehensive about this step. Pray for peace, and most of all, that this will reveal that Lindsay's OWN heart can function.

One of our friends, Dr. Judy Jalovick, encouraged me to check out the lyrics to a song from one of the latest Gaither Vocal Band CD's. The song is entitled, THROUGH ...
“When I saw what lay before me,
Lord, I cried, what will you do?
I thought He would just remove it.
But, He gently led me through.
Without fire, there’s no refining,
without pain, no release,
without flood, there’s no rescue,
without testing, no belief.
Through the fire, through the flood,
through the water, through the blood…
Through the dry and barren places,
through life’s dense and maddening mazes,
through the pain, and through the glory…
Through we’ll always tell the story,
of the God whose power and mercy,
will not fail…to take us…through.”

I think that sums it all up for tonight ... Lord, please take Lindsay through!

Dear Jon & Laura;
The Lord is your strength and your fortress every day & moment.
Praise Him for the answers to prayer as they come--even when they are
small. Your precious Lindsay is on my heart often; as she comes to
mind, I send the Lord her name in prayer. May the Lord continue to
enable Lindsay to move forward in improving. The first time I saw her
picture , I knew how much more precious she is to my Heavenly Father.
Praise the Lord how He loves her, Tanner, & both of you. May you also
continue to encourage the other parents around you. Jesus said, "Let
the little children come to me...., for the kingdom of heaven belongs to
such as these.' ...placed His hands on them." Oh, how He loved everyone
of them. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding." Prov 3:5 As you trust your child into His care & the
rest of your family, may you know that He will answer, keep, sustain, &
protect day by day. Continuing to pray for you, Tanner, family, & those
who care for Lindsay(thank the Lord for them). Looking forward to the things that God is going to do.

Love in Christ,
Friend of Americas Keswick,

Just wanted to let you know that our Sunday school class "Feet to Faith" at King Street United Bretheren Church in Chambersburg has been lifting up this beautiful little girl to our almighty God (The Great Physician) for His healing . May He provide a peace to you that surpasses all human understanding. May He guide the doctors in their decisions. May He grant Linsay the strength and stamina to ward off any infections. May He heal young Lindsay back to health so as to give God all the glory and further His kingdom!!!

All of us around here have been praying for Lindsay as well as the rest of you. We've also passed it on to a pastor in Harrisburg who knows what you are going through since he had a similiar time with his grandaughter last year about this time. His church is praying, too with hearts that understand. Love, Wanda and Bob

Jon and Laura,
Your father's blog reminded me of another song that centers around the word "through." I learned it when I was pretty young, and I have no idea who wrote it without looking it up. It is "Through it all."
I've had many tears and sorrows;
I've had questions for tomorrow.
There've been times I did'nt know
right from wrong
But in every situation,
God gave blessed consolation
That my trials come to only make
me strong.

Through it all, through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
Oh,I've learned to trust in God
Through it all, through it all
I've learned to depend upon His
word.

There are more verses, but this one exemplifies you in my opinion. You have incredible faith which strengthens ours. We are praying for your little miss and her doctors.

Dear Jon and Laura,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Lindsay tonight. I know the waiting is difficult and how overwhelming it can be to see your child endure so much. Tomorrow, as my children and I gather for devotions, we will include Lindsay in our prayers.

Dear Jon & Laura & Tanner,
Our family has been checking this website at least twice daily and are praying for Lindsay more than that each day. We sent another message earlier but didn't see it posted but you have been in our prayers for the last couple of weeks. Our children belong to God and He shares them with us. He knows the best although it is so hard to see them suffer. Our Father knows our pain because of His Son dying for us. This is so difficult for you but it may be meant as a witness to some one who is looking for an answer when it comes to their eternity. May God continue to bless you with faith and trust. Psalm 121 is comforting to us when we have had problems with our kids. It relieves us to know that Jesus neither slumbers nor sleeps but is watching over all even in the darkest night.Love and Prayers Ron & Ava Christians & family

Good morning, Jon and Laura - yesterday during communion, Joy played "Rock of Ages." It was so good to sit and marvel at the firm Rock on which we are set.

Rock of Ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee...

It was so good to see you all last night - thank you so much for letting me see and talk to Lindsay, and play with Tanner. And Jon - Lindsay's socks are fantastic! The picture of her feet all cozy in those fuzzy pinks makes me smile. Life is good, because God is good. I love you guys,

Sus

Morning! Yesterday as Brian & I sat in church we were flooded with memories of the past (songs from the past), verses from God's Word that blessed us & that we can share with you! And when I got home to check for an update... the one verse He gave me was the first verse posted for yesterday... Isaiah 40:11 "He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in HIS arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young." It shouldn't surprise me how God works but I did run to get Brian to share this with him!

We had a choir sing the song "Total Praise" by Brooklyn Tab... "Lord, I will lift up my eyes to the hills, knowing my help is coming from You, Your peace you give me, In time of the storm...
You are the source of my strength, You are the strength of my life, I lift up my hands in total praise to You..."

We love you & we're praying for Lindsay as they back down the ECMO... and I leave you with this Scripture this morning from 1 Thes. 1:2-8 (and I changed a few words to make it personal to you)
"We also thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by FAITH, your labor(for Lindsay) prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, Jon & Laura, loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the HOLY SPIRIT and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the LORD; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy, given by the Holy Spirit. And so you, Jon & Laura, became a model to all the believes in Boston... the Lord's message rang out from you not only in Boston but across the world-- your faith in God has become known everywhere..."

To GOD be the GLORY!
Love, Brian & Donna
p.s. Laura, do you remember the words to the song Bubba sang at Sandy Cove "Sing for Joy"? The words came from Psalm 96

Laura, Jon and Tanner and family,

Laura I have not made it to MOPS for a few months and found out today about Lindsay. I read all the posts and with tears and hope and amazement at the courage that your family has demonstrated.

When I worked at Nebraska Children's Hosptial as an RN I witnessed many miracles, big and small on a daily basis. I will continue to offer up prayers of strength for your family. But also prayers that the medical team of doctors and nurses continue to work so hard to take care of these children. And also for the Nurses and Doctors to realize how special your family is. Much love and prayers.

Always in our prayers, Melissa,Brian, and kiddies

In this hectic life/time, we often don't take the time to let you all know how much you are in our thoughts and prayers. The Reids all check the news daily wherever they may be. Your Great Aunt Irma loves this computer age since it keeps us all updated and in touch. She was the first of us to use the blog. She even has Lindsay on the prayer line from Samaritan's Purse, so even more and more people are praying for God's will with Lindsay's care.

Hugs and love to you all.
