Saturday afternoon Update

"May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope." Romans 15:13 (Amplified Bible)

This verse has been coming at us from many different geographic locations. The bubbling over hope that God gives is not understandable by the world. To them it is denial or repressed fear. But for those of us who know the GOD OF HOPE -- know that it is unexplainable, but ever so REAL!

Dr. Mayer shared with the kids today that Lindsay is not out of the woods, but he is not HOPE-less!!!

1. The lung is slight better than yesterday and they are continuing to take steps to suction off the mucous.

2. The infection is improving.

3. She is eliminating fluids better (that was for you, Laurel!) but they are tweaking her meds so that she will eliminate not only what she takes in, but fluid in the body.

4. We are still waiting for a more definitive answer about the mitral valve, but there is some talk that the leak is more severe because of being on ECMO.

5. They are adjusting the paralytic meds because she is becoming a little more restless. She still has plenty of fight in her and wants to see her Mommy and Daddy and Tanner!

6. Please continue to pray about the housing situation. They have the room and Devon and Nicole House until next Thursday.

I want to thank you for writing on the blog today. Don't just visist! Write! It is a HUGE encouragement.

If you cannot write on the blog, you can send me an email at keswickexe@akmail.org and I will post your entry.

"Lord You are Jehovah Rapha, You are THE ONE WHO HEALS.
We ask You to reveal Yourself as Healer in the life of Lindsay Alice. We thank You for revealing Your wonderous atributes to us in Your Word. As we read it, continuously open our eyes to who You really are so that our prayers will rest on the solid foundation of Your character.
May our prayers have power because they are based on the truth about You." Amen

In the midst of what may seem to be hopeless, Hope! Remember Him, who is our SOURCE OF HOPE!!
Our hope is in His character!Though things appear to be pressing in on all sides, know that God hears you when you cry out to Him and He hears your hearts cry when your mouth is too tired to form the words.

Laura, Jon, be confident that God hears you. He is your Shield and Protector from all the things, and all the thoughts that can seem to press in on you threatening to crush you.
Trust Him watch over and care for your hearts as well as Lindsay's...no matter what you see or hear. No matter what happens...
"THE LORD IS YOUR SHIELD AND ETERNAL PROTECTOR. When you are in distress or danger, He will help you. Trust His character. He will be your glory and the lifter of your head in this day. Lift your gaze and your heart from everything on this earth to HIM WHO REIGNS OVER ALL. Thank Him for answering from heaven and acting on your behalf when you cry out for Lindsay.
May He be glorified in it." Amen

One more prayer for your encouragement:

"Lord thank You for Your promise that those who ask receive and that when we seek, we will find. Grant us the grace to persevere, TO KEEP ASKING,SEEKING KNOCKING UNTIL THE ANSWER COMES! Thank You for the power and grace of Your Spirit, who gives us the strength to persevere in prayer even when we are at our weakest moment and ready to give up."

Laura and Jon please know that WE ARE STANDING IN THE GAP for you. WHEN YOU FEEL TIRED AND WANT TO REST...IT'S OKAY. OUR HANDS ARE LIFTED UP FOR YOU seeking and ASKING AND PRAISING HIM FOR WHAT HE'S ALREADY DONE AND FOR WHO HE ALWAYS IS...FAITHFUL. TRUE. JUST. MERCIFUL. FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.
DEAR ONES, CONTINUE TO TRUST HIS HEART AND HIS HAND WITH EVERY, EVERY, EVERYTHING...NOT MATTER WHAT!!!

Praying in hope,
Stephanie P. :-)

You are in our thoughts and prayers! A verse of comfort to us is Psalm 62:5-6 "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken."

Bill Jan and Jon and Laura We Continue to pray for you. I know this is a difficult time. As a Nurse I know all the different lines drips and equipment that is attached to Lindsay right now. I'm sure this MD who presented the gloomy picture was trying to do you a service but remember those who don't know Christ don't know of the hope that is found in Him or of the peace we can have in the midst of a difficult situation because they have no hope. I pray your lives will be a testimony to this man and that he will remember that Lindsay is a precious little life not just another heart patient passing through the pediatric ICU. My favorite verse comes to mind for you today. I'm sure you know it well. Prov.3:5&6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowlegde Him and He will direct your path. God will give you wisdom to know what to do for Lindsay. He gave her to you for a reason to love and care for her and to protect her. He wiil continue to show you and the medical staff which way to go in reguards to your childs treatment and care. Don't let anyone deter you from the direction God is showing you in the care of Lindsay. You have been a great testimony to those around you. I'm sure God's using you in ways you can't even imagine or know. We pray God will continue to strengthen and encourage you. Know you are in our prayers daily through out the day. God bless Bill and Jan Covelens

This has been my 'through the night' verse for many years.

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
~Colossians 4:2

Lord we pray to you and you alone because you are the God who hears us and cares for us. You will never leave us in a time of trial and your will for our lives is always right. Please be with the Groen family and help them feel the warmth of your loving presence. Please guide the doctors and give everyone clear and straight paths to walk. And thank you for all the blessings you have given us and for all the blessings that are to come. Amen.

Bill,
I just got done reading about Lindsay last update.

I pray that the Lord will give ALL of you His Peace that passes all understanding, even though the doctors who don't know our God and can paint everything as dooms day. Our hope is in the Lord. There is nothing to fear but fear alone.
Our God can do miracles in any circumstance and we will "trust in Him".
Lindsay belongs to Him and He wants the best for her.
I love you all and my heart aches for all of you as you watch so helpless. We have to thank Him for all the signs that He has shown us like the bleeding stopping suddenly when prayer was lifted up.
God bless little Lindsay and the whole family,

Love ya, Faye Geiser

Thank you for doing all the posting and keeping the prayer team up to speed on the baby's condition. There are a host of people praying here in Lancaster County, PA. We too wake in the middle of the night with Lindsay on our minds and hearts and so we pray until sleep returns.

Being a parent, and soon to be a grandparent, I can only hope I would have the faith these two young parents are showing; how can we be hopeless about anything when they are so strong in this season of
darkness. Our love, prayers, and hopes are with them, and you, now.
Please let them know that prayers are being offered in Pennsylvania and Texas too for a return of health to, as she has become, OUR baby Lindsay.

Stay strong!

dear Welte family,
hello everyone. wow, words really can't describe everything you all have been through, thankfully God has given us HIS word to replace the ones we can't express. my heart has just been so heavy for you all these past few weeks and i have the fellowship of Christian students (FCS) at my school praying for you all too...we all pray as a family every night for you guys also. i just wanted to let you all know that even through these hard circumstances, you all have blessed me in such a positive way. the past few months i have been struggling with many doubts and feeling very distant from God, satan's attacks have been very powerful lately. and just to hear and read about you all has really encouraged me. like you total trust and faith in God's power has just really set an amazing example for me. thank you so much for your example!
also, during this time of doubt this amazing verse showed up and i just wanted to share with you all, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is set on You: because he TRUSTS in YOU. trust in the Lord forever, for He is an EVERLASTING ROCK" Isaiah 26:3,4
this is so true! circumstances and obstacles in life come and go, and many things change in life but the ONLY thing that stays the same is the God above, our ROCK.
"in Christ the solid ROCK i stand ALL other ground is sinking sand...."

keep holding on to HIM!!! i love you all so much and am praying for you.
love with all my heart,

We continue to lift you in prayers, for healing, for answers, for peace. Lindsay's life is a blessing, and continues to be an opportunity for ministry to the medical team. Thank you for being that example to all of us.

The old hymn 'It is well with my soul' comes to mind, and it is my prayer for you.
