Monday Afternoon Update

Can't believe that this is the 95th update since putting up the blog, and that we are fast approaching 17,000 visits to the site. Amazing!

It has been a relatively quiet day ... but here is where we are:

The result of backing Lindsay off of ECMO was that her heart cannot function on it's own. There was also some kidney issues with not being on the machine.

The infection and lung are better today. There is talk that we might be looking at the Berlin Heart at the end of the week or early next week.

Her "output" considers to be going well.

Do we appreciate your prayer support and encouragement?

BibleGateway's verse of the day:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

Interesting "coincidence" how the same verses keep popping up! :-)

Continuing to pray for all of you.

Love and hugs,

Susan M.

Heard this song played in church yesterday... may it bring comfort and strength today. Also, we're glad to hear positive news today. So...

"I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, For HIS eye is on the sparrow(Lindsay) and I know He watches me."

"Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home, when Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me."

"Let not your heart be troubled, his tender word I hear, and resting in His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Tho' by the path he leadeth but one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me."

"Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, when songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, from care he sets me free, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he cares for me(Lindsay)".

"I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, for HIS eye is on the sparrow(Lindsay), and I know he watches me."

Gavin ( age 5 ) continues to pray for his friend Lindsay. We even prayed at Sunday School yesterday in my class since my mom was the teacher and she asked my friends to pray for her too. Your Friend Gavin W.

Here is a hymn that the Lord has laid upon my heart to share with you:
"He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase; To added affliction He addeth His mercy, To multiplied trials His multiplied grace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance, When our strength has failed ere the day is half done, When we reach the end of our hoarded resources, Our Father;s full giving has only begun.
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure, His pow'r has no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth and giveth and giveth again." Continuing to keep you in my prayers...I will be seeing "grandpa Welte" @ Keswick for the Liz Curtis Higgs day, & I know he will keep the 1000+ ladies there up-to-date with Lindsay's situation...Diane Nichols

What can I say? Place all your care on HIM and HE will care for you -- ALL of you. All your needs will be met in His good and perfect will.

If I understand right, the Berlin heart would be a temporary fix until a heart transplant is available and Lindsay is able to accept one. From what I just googled, I gather that the Berlin Heart is a much better choice than ECMO when possible. That means getting rid of the infection.

I pray all will go well with Lindsay and that God will heal her completely by whatever means He chooses.

God bless all y'all real good.

It seems as though she has her ups and downs, but it's good to hear about the ups - it's encouraging. It's not over yet and it keeps me praying. I pass this informaton on to people who do not have computers and love Keswick and you, Bill.

Jon and Laura may God conintue to hold you close and give you strength and peace only He can. Much love from SW MN.

I just noticed that when there was a lot of news on the blog, whether good or bad, there are many, many, "comments". But on a day like today that you call "slow" there were only 6 notes. That compells me to write. Gal 6:9 Let us not grow weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. I continue to pray thanking God for a "slow day". May Lindsay get needed rest and may God's Almighty hand rest on her and all of her family.

There is a Point of Grace song on their new CD called "You are Good", and the chorus says this:

"So how can I thank you, what can I bring?
What can a poor man lay at the feet of a King?
I'll sing you this love song, that's all that I have
To tell you I'm grateful for holding my life in Your hands."

I have the CD and have heard this song so many times. However, when I heard it today I immediately thought of Lindsay and thanked the Lord that He's holding her life in His hands.

I'm praying for "slow days" so that everyone can get some much needed rest, especially Lindsay.

God Bless You all.

You know how we feel, the love we have for you all. We read of the great number of times Lindsay's Blog has been gone to. Well, get this, Mr. Cat, who let's us live with him, has read the blog and sent Lindsay a card.
Unusual but "true" nonetheless, infact he put a few of his cookies on the card.
Gives a different meaning to "all God's children" and he hopes a smile to all you dog loving folk.

On the serious side , standing with you in prayer and the confidence that our Lord, the source of your strength, will sustain you. L&V

Hi, I was wondering if any of the cards to the doctors had been delivered yet?

Anonymous said...

We haven't heard from anyone that they have gotten the cards. Thanks for sending them. Still waiting, resting on the Lord's time. Even thought it has been slow it has been a good day for Lindsay to catch up. Love and thanks to all.

continuing to pray for all of you!
these "slow" days are really improtant for Lindsay to strengthen; she's been through so much. these days are good for all of you to catch your breaths and regain your equilibrium. (this is from a former ICU nurse at Deborah).

Our prayers are with you and your family Lindsay. From Isaiah 43...

"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."

I've been internet-less for about 4 days so I was anxious to get reconnected to check Lindsay's status. Although, I prayed in transit, now I can be more specific in my prayers. Will continue to pray for complete healing in all areas. With God, nothing is impossible or even difficult for that matter. Praying for your strength, peace and wisdom. John and Diane Hunt

Have been praying even though I haven't posted.

God does keep giving reminders from His word and that is so encouraging---everyone is on God's wavelength. (or in this techie world am I showing my age?) :)

Have a good night resting in the Lord.

Love, hugs & prayers,
Miriam
