Friday Evening Update

There has been a lot of activity this afternoon to bring stability to Lindsay's situation. The assessment given is that what she is experiencing is a result on 25+ of being on the ECMO machine. There is still no definitive word on the infection, however they are giving her nebulizer treatments and antibiotics to treat the lungs.

Tonight Lindsay's output was improving and that was encouraging. All three doctors have assured the kids that they will do everything the can. All three have indicated that there is still HOPE.

Dr. Brown shared with the family that your cards are arriving, and that they are a huge encouragement!!! Thanks for writing to Dr Mayer, Dr. Emani and Dr. Brown. If you haven't, you can still do so by writing to them at:
Children's Hospital Boston
300 Longwood Avenue
Boston, MA 02115.

I would also like to encourage you to write to Lindsay's nurse, Heather. I don't know her last name but you can send it to the CICU 8 East.

Thanks for partnering with us.

Our hearts were saddened by the afternoon blog, but are encouraged by the report of the doctors hope. We know that our Hope is in the Great Physician and His plan for Lindsay. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you all. We too are proud of the testimony that Laura and Jon have kept through this long trial. I'm not sure if I have missed a blog about the housing situation, please update....Thanks for keeping us posted and Bill you always were mush...Ha Ha .Love Bill & Carol Kern

My goodness...I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes from reading this afternoon's blog. We have an 8 year old son and a 2 year old daughter, and I certainly can understand Jon's wanting to pick Lindsay up and hold her. I can't imagine not being able to do that. Your entire family's strength and dependence on the Lord blows me away.

I will continue to keep all of you in prayer, as we wait to see what the Lord's will. I pray, just as others said, that the doctors and nurses would be blown away at how great our God is.

It has been a true privilege to bear this burden with you.

In Christ's Love,

Honored to share these days with you Laura, Jon and Tanner and like your friend this afternoon this chorus keeps resonating within me:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

Love,
pam and fam

Thank God for these 3 Drs. who have encouraged the kids. They still have HOPE!!
Well, we never gave up hope because our HOPE is in the LORD!!

Pray that Lindsay will have a restful night snuggled in the arms of Jesus until her Daddy can snuggle her.

Have a restful night everybody.

Jon, Laura, Jan and Bill,
Just wanted you to know that we are continuing to pray for you and little Lindsay. Thank you for giving us updates so that we can pray in specific ways. What a testimony your family has been to the medical staff. We will pray that the seeds you have sown through this difficult journey will grow and blossom into eternal fruit!

"Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we HOPE in you." Psalm 33:20-22

Love, John and Kathy Noel, Matt and Grant

Dear Groen Family,

I read the blog often, but have never left a post. Thank you so much for sharing this experience, as difficult as it is. As I read each day I wonder how I would handle such a crisis. As a "new' christain, you have amazed me with your faith, strength, love, and wisdom. I know little Lindsay is in good hands. Actually, His great hands!

We continue our prayers in Charlotte NC daily. Thank you for all the posts. They mean so much to us from afar who desire to lift up Lindsay and the important details of her life. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Laura and Jon...as each day passes, I know your weariness becomes greater...I always think of Matthew 11:28...He will give rest to all of you. I'm praying that you will see improvement again this weekend no matter how small. However, as Jabez, I am praying for great things...My hope is in the Lord, who can move Heaven and Earth...May God continue to bless, Melanie Vara (Whiting Bible)
