Saturday Afternoon Update

Greetings from Children's Hospital Boston. My brother, George, and sister-in-law, Joan, planned a trip up here to see Lindsay, so Zach and I hitched a ride which surprised Jan since tomorrow is our 34th wedding anniversary.

They did another clean and rinse this morning and there is still an infection in the chest. The infection has ruled out using the Berlin heart for the moment, so there is a good possibility that on Monday they may attempt to do the bypass surgery.

It was hard for me to see Lindsay Bear with so many tubes and medications, and to finally see what the ECMO was all about. She has wonderful care here.

I had the opportunity to eaves drop on a conversation that the ECMO technician
(Julie) had with Laura. I was moved to tears to hear the nurse say how she couldn't believe how well Laura and Jon were handling this situation. Laura gave a strong, clear testimony of how God is sustaining them and told her of the thousands of saints praying for Lindsay.

I am guess my prayer request for everyone today is that we would see God so something so extraordinary that the nurses and doctors will be WOWED to pieces!

Thank you for your prayers and support. Keep those notes, cards, and prayers coming. We love you.

Our prayers are continually with you guys. Lindsay's condition was highlighted in our church bulletin on Sunday and everyone is continuing to pray! We know these are difficult times, but it is in the storms (as a good friend of mine preached at our church) that Christ shows up! We love you!

Hi all...

Happy Anniversary, Bill and Jan! So glad you could be together on this special day.

We're praying for Lindsay and so thankful that the Great Physician loves her so much and knew her before she was born...

Psalm 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Laura and Jon- may God give you extra doses of strength this weekend as you navigate these days of decisions and care. We're hoping that PopPop and Zach are a welcome treat for Tanner too!

Love and prayers-
Aunt Sharon, Uncle Matt, Kelsey and Jared

Bill, I've been praying specifically the last few days that you and Zach would be able to go to be with Jan, Laura and Jon and Lindsay and now you are there! So glad. It has been such a blessing to pray for all of you and read how God is answering the prayers of HIS people. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. We are praying... especially for Monday.

Bill: Know that we are praying for God to heal Lindsey and uphold you all. Several verses have been encouraging to me in the past year, as I've wrestled with anxiety and worry over various things. It would seem God is bearing you and yours remarkably. But if / when discouragement is on the rise, remember: 1) to seek the Lord, and He will answer you and deliver you from all your fears (Ps 34:4). 2) Do not fear, for God is with you; Do not look axiously about you, for He is your God; He will strengthen you, surely He will help you; Surely He will uphold you with His righteous right hand (Is. 41:10). 3) He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory, in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Hi Laura & Jon

You're in my thoughts and prayers and as I pray for little Lindsay healing I also pray for the Doctors as they take care of her and I pray Jesus's healing hands would touch her and heal her completely.

I agree with the ECMO technician that Jon and Laura have exhibited incredible strength throughout this unexpected journey. Lindsay is VERY lucky to have the support of family and friends- her continued improvement is a testament to those who love her.

Happy wedding anniversary Jan and Bill!

Laura and Jon, as I read of your testimony to others my mind went to this chorus:
I’m learning to lean, learning to lean,
Learning to lean on Jesus.
Finding more power than I’d ever dreamed,
I’m learning to lean on Jesus.
I also remember singing this with learning to love through Jesus and learning to live ...and you are.
On this the anniversary of Laura's mom and dad my mind went back to the day you two married and said "in sickness and in health". Words said in faith that the Lord would be with you in ALL and He is.
Love you - Praying LVS
